Yeah, my body is not entirely ready for it. However, I decided that I'm not working on the second part of Orica because I got a much more entertaining idea involving typefaces. It's called Ligature Wars and it's basically a fantasy story where pretty much everything is related to fonts and typography. Helvetica and Arial are two countries at war, Lord Papyrus wants to take over the world, and my main character has to search for the weapon of Garamond. I'm pretty excited about it.

Of course, I'm also insane because I decided to try working on a second story this month, which brings my goal up to 100k. It's called Elements and it's actually a story I worked on extensively back in high school, but I deleted/threw out everything related to it for various reasons. However, parts of the story stuck with me and over Fall Break I decided that I should revive it sometime. Well, that sometime is apparently now. Thankfully, I remember enough of the story and characters to be able to throw this one together. As I pre-write, I remember more of what the story was like but I'm also making some good changes to it. I mean, the two main characters had gone through two other stories of mine before I came up with Elements, so I felt kind of bad not doing anything with them in the end.

I have my word counts for each day written down, so I should theoretically be able to pull it off. I can finish one of the papers I have due this weekend, leaving only one paper and a few scattered assignments (unless my Beatles prof decides to assign a slew of 5-page papers. I will ragequit if that happens). I managed to hit 50k last year with 4 days to spare, so we'll see what happens this year.

I'll do links and stuff next time 'cause I still have a lot of planning to do for both stories and I have to clear all my homework away. Later.
